The start of the Newlyn harbour development scheme is imminent, says Tony Woodhams, leader of the Newlyn Fish Industry Forum (NFIF). As project officer in the development of a new fish market he is confident that, after planning permission was recently passed by Penwith District Council, building work may begin in a matter of weeks. "If all that goes smoothly there's no reason why work on the ancillary buildings shouldn't begin right away, with a start on the new fish market quite soon.
